We're a small team of dedicated developers who believe that programming is important in shaping the future. This is why we've created The AI-Games, a platform where developers can challenge themselves and each other in a fun and engaging way. On this platform we're fostering a community of developers that are motivated to learn and inspire each other to become better.
This is why want to share our concept with companies and universities so they can take advantage of the benefits that programming competitions offer.
Our story begins as the "Geek Squad", the dev team at StarApple, an IT-recruitment agency in the Netherlands.
At the time StarApple only made use of traditional channels to reach developers who were looking for a new job. We thought there was a whole group of developers we weren’t reaching through these traditional channels. We wanted to reach developers that were looking for a real challenge.
For the Starapple Code Contest we hosted an online competition. Round and about 12 people joined, they all enjoyed it a lot.
We hosted another challenge. Poker has had its rise in popularity the years before. This time, a couple dozen developers joined. One of the Riddles founders was a participant.
After hosting the challenges, we had nothing to show for it. We decided to create a platform to host more competitions called “The AI Games”. We had 200.000 visitors last year.
We are receiving more and more requests from companies. They want to host internal competitions for their staff, which makes us think about the possibilities.
The crown to our work on The AI Games. A university used our website for their coarse material. We went to Bucharest to meet the developers. They really enjoyed it.
From this point on we have been live on www.riddles.io. Although we are still working very hard to make the platform better, this was the starting point to reach our goals.
